Who's preggers? 

WHY, THE ONE AND ONLY MAMA CAKIES, OF COURSE!

Despite all that's happening with my hard drive dilema, I've gotten the chance to start over on my portfolio.  What other way to do so than taking family portraits for the wonderful Bratcher family (along with the very talented RJ who shot as well, and the very talented and HIRE- ABLE Reinna who did all the badass hair). I had the greatest time working with them, it actually wasn't work at all, it was more fun than work! They're such a cute family, and their two daughters are definitely full of life. Makes me wonder what the third baby Bratcher is going to be like! I was so grateful for Ruby and Ben asking me to take their family portraits, seeing how these would be their last ones before the newest addition to the family pops out! 

If you have yet to find out what Cakies are, take a few minutes to find out! Not knowing what the very creative Mama Cakies does for a living would be depriving yourself of... I don't know. Something great! So mosey on down to her site, look around, buy a few things, and come on back!

I don't have my macbook pro to edit photos anymore, so these are the one's I've managed to edit before I get my laptop fixed next week. There's a bunch more on my flickr though!

Data Retrieval

As of Sunday night, my hard drive started failing and before I could even try to back up all my data, it failed entirely. I'm in the process of seeing if anything can be retrieved through data retrieval. I'm really stressed out because not only does it have ALL my papers/notes/data from my last 2 years of college, but there are also: photos from 3 separate weddings I've shot, ALL my photos from shows I've done this year, numerous headshots, and most recently, my ENTIRE trip to Boston during National Edge Day weekend for Have Heart's final show. Out of everything, the most important set of data on there are the photos from the weddings. Not just because it's my work, but because it's the photos from my clients wedding day. I can't do anything about it now, so I feel entirely helpless. I'm definitely bummed out, but I'm honestly just trying to trust that God would find it in His will to allow all that data be retrieved. He's in control in all situations, especially in the ones I have NO control over.

For those of you who do, I would appreciate any kind of prayer for my situation. It would give me a greater peace of mind knowing that others are praying as well. I know this may not seem like a huge deal, and I know that others are going through far worse things than I, but your prayers would be appreciated nonetheless. Thank you.

here's a few more photos from the Anchors Up show in Haverhill, MA.  Praise God for blessing me with a passing grade. I didn't study as much as I should've, I was out of school for a week prior to that because of the flu,  so thank God for helping me pass, and thank God for healing me from the stupid flu! I'll have the rest up by next week and blog about it, but here's a few more before then! Hope you guys like 'em. I'm stoked on the last batch from Anchors Up. Then I can move on TO NATIONAL EDGE DAY! WOOHOO!

National Edge Day Weekend 2009 ANCHORS UP

I'm STILL stoked to put this one up, BUT:

1) It's 1:38am

2) I'm still sick

3) I'm shooting a wedding today 

4) The bride gets ready @ 6:30am

5) I have to wake up before that

National Edge Day Weekend 2009 DAY TWO

Day two of my trip wasn't too hectic. It was actually pretty relaxing. After a night of almost freezing to death, Pat woke me up to more freezing weather and I got ready for the day. I saw the Boston Celtics cup in the bathroom, and the Boston morning frost on the window... I wanted to make sure I wasn't dreaming, and that I really was in Boston, so I took a photo. NOT!

We headed out to Cambridge and ran a few errands in Harvard Square before the Anchor's Up show that night. Well, all we had to do was take Pat to get a hair cut, while Jordan, Jen, Alex & I walked in and around the Harvard campus and froze to death. 

We stopped by the Creme Cafe, the coffeehouse which won the the Best Coffeehouse in Boston Magazine's Best of Boston 2009! Their hot mocha saved my life, I was definitely not ready for the cold weather. After we met up with Pat, we headed out to grab some gear, Then we pick up Beverly & Walter, swung by the airport again to pick up another friend and headed for the show. 

National Edge Day Weekend 2009 DAY ONE

So I was counting down the days for the, much anticipated, National Edge Day Weekend of 2009. A huge reason, as to why I was counting down for this, is because I finally got to travel out-of-state again. I haven't had the chance to since I flew out to Tacoma, WA., for Rain Fest last year. I was most definitely stoked on traveling, but it was the fact that I was flying out to see Have Heart's last two shows that made me so excited. The morning I flew out, my badass girlfriend drove me to the airport to see me off! She acted like she didn't care, but when it came down to it, she started crying. She's a wuss, because I was only leaving for 4 days.

After she saw me off, I boarded my flight within the hour. I never knew how badass Virgin America is, it felt like I was in a lounge my whole flight. They even had personal screens, video games, movies, tv channels, and seat-to-seat instant messaging (I didn't fly with anyone so I never got to experience how TRULY badass Virgin America is). My flight was long, but I didn't know how long because the time change was screwing me up. All I know is, when I got to Boston & when I came back from Boston, I was lagged out of my mind.

I arrived in Boston at around 8pm and had some time to kill before my ride came. So I made my way through the airport, looking like a total tourist. Being asian didn't help me break the stereotype either. I finally found a place to grab some food at the infamous Dunkin' Donuts of Boston, MA. My ride showed up while I was eating, so I came out and was greeted 49 degree weather and rain. 

First night there and I was already driving around Boston in style, chauffeur and my host up front and... boxes up the ying-yang in the back. The night ended with some good home-made cookies, a quick little tour of Boston and a midnight showing of Where the Wild Things Are. I'm sorry, but I really couldn't help but think that kid was a brat.

National Edge Day Weekend 2009

I officially can't edit anymore photos right now because I finally filled up 700GBS on both my HD & external HD. I'm going to buy more memory this weekend after the wedding I shoot Saturday. SO, just hold on tight & keep checking in because I'll be posting up a few photos that I had a chance to edit/export later through out the week. Thanks for being patient.
